When mentioning smart electrical solutions, the first company that should come to everyone’s mind is Alfen: ‘The electricity network of the future’! This company located in Almere builds and delivers numerous different electro-technical systems: ranging from transformer stations, energy-storage systems and charging poles for electrical cars to a wide range of miscellaneous products and services.

Alfen’s vision is to produce in a more modular and standardised fashion. In doing so, it is important to have control over the order intake. At the same time, the need for an ordering portal for customers was also growing. This is of course no big deal whatsoever for Merkato!

Thanks to Merkato, Alfen can dedicate all of its attention to the established aims. Because of all of the knowledge having been easily laid down in the configurator (without requiring the employers to possess any programming knowledge), AND because of Merkato already offering different possibilities to realise the customer portal by default, this too can be realised quickly. However, most of all, Merkato enables one to have control over the selling process by which the foundation is laid for further standardisation and a modular approach.
